About Keshav Chauhan | Building Privacy-First Software

About Keshav Chauhan

Hi, I'm Keshav Chauhan.

I'm a solo developer, founder, and builder with a simple belief:

Technology should serve people—not quietly monitor them.

Most software today is designed around engagement, data collection, and behavioral tracking. The more information a platform gathers, the more valuable it often becomes.

I've become increasingly interested in the opposite approach.

How do we build products that respect users instead of profiling them?

How do we create software that earns trust through architecture rather than marketing?

How do we design digital experiences that feel safe, calm, and genuinely useful?

Those questions are what led me to start building privacy-first software—and ultimately, what led me to create this blog.

Why Thoughtfully Built Exists

Thoughtfully Built is where I document what I learn while building software from scratch.

Not just code.

Not just startups.

But the intersection of engineering, product design, privacy, security, and entrepreneurship.

I created this blog to share practical lessons, technical insights, and real-world experiences from building products as an independent developer.

Here you'll find content about:

  • Flutter Development
  • Mobile App Development
  • App Architecture
  • Firebase
  • App Security
  • Encryption
  • Privacy Engineering
  • Startup Growth
  • Indie Hacking
  • Product Development
  • Building in Public

Rather than writing about theories, I prefer sharing lessons that come directly from building and shipping real products.

The successes.

The mistakes.

The technical challenges.

And the decisions that rarely make it into tutorials.

What I Build

My work focuses on creating software that is secure, reliable, and respectful of user privacy.

I'm particularly interested in:

Flutter Development

Building fast, scalable, and maintainable mobile applications using Flutter.

Privacy Engineering

Designing systems that minimize data collection and prioritize user ownership.

Security & Encryption

Exploring how secure architectures, encryption, and thoughtful system design can improve digital trust.

Product Development

Turning ideas into products through iteration, experimentation, and continuous learning.

Entrepreneurship

Learning what it takes to build, market, and grow products as a solo founder.

Building RozVibe

I'm currently building RozVibe, a privacy-first encrypted journaling application.

The idea came from a simple observation:

A journal is one of the few places where people can be completely honest with themselves.

Yet many digital products are built on business models that depend on collecting, analyzing, and monetizing user behavior.

That contradiction didn't sit right with me.

So I started building RozVibe around a different principle:

Privacy is not merely the protection of data. It is the freedom to be completely honest with yourself.

RozVibe is designed to provide a secure space for reflection through privacy-first architecture, encrypted storage, secure synchronization, and a deliberate commitment to minimizing unnecessary data collection.

Building the product has become an ongoing education in:

  • Encryption Architecture
  • Mobile Security
  • User Trust
  • Product Design
  • Startup Execution
  • Privacy-First Engineering

Many of those lessons eventually become articles on this blog.

What You'll Find Here

If you're a developer, founder, indie hacker, or curious builder, you'll find content across several areas.

Flutter & Mobile Development

Practical tutorials, architecture decisions, performance optimization techniques, Firebase integrations, and lessons learned from building production applications.

Privacy & Security Engineering

Encryption concepts, secure development practices, authentication systems, privacy-first design decisions, and approaches to protecting user data.

Startups & Indie Hacking

Product validation, user acquisition, growth experiments, positioning, app marketing, and the realities of building products independently.

Building in Public

Transparent reflections on the wins, setbacks, challenges, and lessons that come from creating software from the ground up.

My Philosophy

The longer I spend building software, the more I believe a few principles matter.

Software should be useful before it is impressive.

Security should not be treated as an afterthought.

Privacy should be built into systems from the beginning—not added later as a feature.

Trust is easier to lose than it is to earn.

And the products that endure are often the ones that solve real problems with clarity and simplicity.

Technology influences how people think, communicate, work, and express themselves.

That responsibility deserves thoughtful engineering.

Which is ultimately why this blog is called Thoughtfully Built.

Join the Journey

Thoughtfully Built is an ongoing record of what I'm learning while building products, experimenting with ideas, and creating privacy-first technology.
